About Suicide Death Investigation Course (SDIC) from the American Association of Suicidology:

The Suicide Death Investigation Course is two-day immersive workshop centered on the review procedures related to mortality assessments and inquiries, with a particular focus on cases involving suicides within healthcare and behavioral healthcare systems. The course aims to provide participants with an understanding of how deaths are classified, to acquire the skills and knowledge to conduct mortality reviews, death investigations or inquiries, to foster critical thinking abilities when determining cause and manner of death and enable them to comprehend the circumstances surrounding a death for drawing conclusions regarding suicide.

This course is the first of four within the Suicide Death Investigation Exam and Certification© Series and the prerequisite for subsequent courses in the series. In accordance with the curriculum structure, courses must be completed sequentially, commencing with the 100-level course, followed by the 200-level course, and then the 300-level course. The certification exam serves as the culminating component of the program, marking the final step in assessing and validating the comprehensive knowledge and skills acquired throughout the course series.
