Training Description: Does your coalition have awesome ideas, but you cannot get buy-in from the community? Are you struggling with membership recruitment? Is your coalition doing phenomenal work, but no one knows your name? These are just a few of the concerns coalitions have when they have low community visibility. This session will simplify how a coalition can build a strong brand, identify steps to a comprehensive communication plan, and provide guidance for developing strong messaging that will bring the right people to the table.

Objectives: Participants will be able to:
  • recognize the essential elements needed to build their coalition brand
  • identify the steps of developing a culturally competent branding and communications plan
  • express important information about their coalition with key audiences

PRESENTERS:

Amy Hamilton, MPA, OCPSA
Amy Hamilton has worked in the non-profit and government sectors for over 17 years, with specific expertise in volunteer management, training development and facilitation, program management, community organizing and community coalition development. Amy is a certified instructors for Adult & Youth Mental Health First Aid, QPR Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper training, PAX Tools, Trauma Informed Approaches, and the Social Resilience Model and has developed local and state-wide trainings on topics including behavior health prevention and early intervention, strategic planning, organizational development, volunteer management, and the utilization of diversity, equity, and inclusion theories among others. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Work with a minor in Gender and Diversity Studies from Xavier University. Amy also graduated magna cum laude from the University of Dayton with a Master's degree in Public Administration and Certificate in Nonprofit and Community Leadership.
