Midwest Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Summit
8:00 AM - 4:30 PM ESTEvent Description
The Midwest Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Summit was born in 2019 out of a strong desire to provide local suicide prevention professionals with the practical skills they need to effectively reduce suicide rates. There was also a desire to connect suicide prevention partners across borders in the Midwest region of the United States. The Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation went about planning an in-person summit that focused on practical implementation, prevention success stories, and collaboration with community partners across disciplines.
WORKSHOP COMPONENTS:
As many of us know, CONNECTEDNESS is a primary protective factor in the prevention of suicide and treatment of mental illness. When it comes to suicide prevention, connectedness is the key to standing together, sharing resources and making a real difference in our communities. That's why we want to invite you to the Midwest Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Summit being held in Columbus, Ohio, on October 17-18, 2024. Let's stand together and move forward as one and make a real impact in our communities and our respective states.
This two-day in-person summit will focus on providers of suicide prevention across the Midwest, including coalitions and organizations dedicated to preventing suicide and promoting mental health wellness, prevention professionals, healthcare professionals, veteran-serving organizations, state and community leaders, and others dedicated to community solutions to address the public health problem of suicide and mental health.
